✳ THE GOVERNANCE OBSERVATORY VOL. 01

What happens when
the rules change?

Build a synthetic DAO community. Tune its behaviors and voting rules. Watch how decisions travel through a network of people.

03 / THE METHOD

Not prophecy.
A better question.

Quorumfield helps communities see which assumptions drive an outcome. It is a small, transparent agent-based model for discussion, not a forecast or a governance oracle.

01 / PEOPLE

Twenty-four synthetic members start with reproducible opinions and network ties. No real wallet or DAO data is used.

02 / BEHAVIOR

Each round, opinions move toward connected peers. Participation is sampled from the configured base rate and member traits.

03 / RULES

Votes are evaluated against quorum and approval thresholds. Optional delegation lets absent members assign one vote to a connected steward.

04 / LIMITS

The model omits strategic campaigning, token weights, bribes, complex delegation, and real-world shocks. Outcomes are illustrative.

MODEL PROVENANCE

Inspired by the agent-based modeling approach of Mesa ↗, an Apache-2.0 Python framework. This site implements its own small JavaScript model; it does not run Mesa or use Mesa code.
